Meeting update: 9 May

A warm welcome to our subs, guests and visitors, Mike Stevenson from Utility Warehouse and Sophie Way from Hamer Way Architecture.

Education slot:

Education Slot this week was delivered by Suzanne Hughes from H T Legal who talked to use about BNI Cup of Tea. The way to do 1-2-1s – we all need to get to know each other. Having a cup of tea is not having a 1-2-1 or getting to know them. Take a look at each other contacts, take a list of people with you that you would like introduction to. Share your information and see if you can help each other. Why not share you GAINS sheet before the meeting so you have a rough idea of each others business before you meet up.

Notable networker

The Notable Networker for May is Carl Telfer from SEI Security for his long service, continued referrals given, 1-2-1 meetings held and testimonials.

60 second cup

The winner of the 60 second cup this week was Ian Griffiths from Alvis Printing. Well done Ian!

10 minute speaker: Carl Telfer

The 10 minute presentation this week was by Carl Telfer from SEI Security. NIC EIV approved practitioner.

His current clients include Wilmslow High School who started in 2014 with 2 doors, added 3 further doors in 2015 and then in 2016 secured their external gates. During 2017 SEI installed a clocking in for 6th form and in 2018 they started to upgrade further CCTV which was completed in 2019 with 32 camera and 10 access doors. They have future plans to expand and currently in talks.

A similar story with Morning foods, they started working with them in 2015 when they installed a monitored CCTV system on their remote grain site. then in 2016 they installed an access control barrier to the site. During 2017 they installed Access Control to their HQ and in 2018 they upgraded the quality of their CCTV to HD. So far in 2019 they have added CCTV to their production areas with access control intruder alarms.

In 2018 SEI Security started working with Liverpool City Council when they were recommended by Paxton manufacturers. After an Initial meeting with council and 2 hour presentation, SEI received an order for the Cunard building and later that year the Town Hall and St Georges Hall were added to the order.

So why choose SEI?
They never oversell. They offer a personal service and the clients always get Carl’s mobile number. He knows where the engineers are and what they are up to. They stick to their stuff and they know what they know well. They hold Accreditations for Alarms, CCTV and Access Control.
