Meeting update: 22 August

A warm welcome to our guests, visitors and subs this week including Caroline Evans from Mercury Protection Services, Janet Raeburn and Steve Evans from Genesis Advisory Services.

The education shot this week was by Sharon Charteress of Mood Design Solutions and was all about 60 seconds and the importance.

The Notable Networker for August went to James Wilkinson from Suddenstrike. James could not make the meeting due to the birth of his daughter. Congratulations to James and his family.

Presentation by Russ Brown of X-Press Legal Services

X-Press Legal Services are national search providers for conveyancing solicitors. These are used when you are moving house.

It all starts when you are thinking of moving house. The next step is to talk to mortgage providers to find out how much you can borrow. Then the fun part, you find your dream home.

At this point you will make contact with conveyancing solicitor – who wants £250 up front (this is for the searches on the property). X-Press Legal then preform the searches on the property for the solicitor.

Why do they/you need this info? Most people will want to borrow money, the lender will not lend money unless it is a secure risk. If anything happens to you and the mortgage is not repaid they can then sell the property and get their money back.

Russ would like introductions to Conveyancing solicitors, Commercial property lawyers and Senior Partners in Solicitors Firms.

Home risk reports are a new service which is available directly to the general public which allows you to check if there are any issues prior to the point of engaging a solicitor. More information about these is available on their website: https://www.homeriskreports.co.uk
