The Education slot was delivered by Ross Jones of Home Financial. Ross talked about maximising your membership. He used BNI U to get the information for this ed slot but he also talked about what a great resource it is for members. Ross distributed a sheet containing 18 ways in which you can evaluate the value of your membership. If anyone wants another copy of the information sheet, please speak to Ross.

New member

This week we welcomed a new member, Stacey Whitney from MosaIc Digital Media. Stacey was invited to attend the group by Sharon Charteress who can be seen welcoming Stacey to the chapter alongside our President Russ Brown.

The winner of the Carl Telfer Cup this week was Russ Brown from X-press Legal Services.

10 minutes: Mike Snape from Bennett Brooks

The 10 minutes this week was delivered by Mike Snape of Bennett Brooks Accountants, Mike heads up the small business team. Mike has been practicing for 29 years, starting his training in 1990.

Bennett Brooks are a general practice accountants but they specialise in the charity and voluntary sector, solicitors, contractors, start-up businesses, locum practitioners and dentists.

They work to build long-term relationships with their clients and fully understand their requirements.

The 10 minute speaker this week is Jon Waldron from BNI Cheshire East. He started by thanking the leadership team, who are working really hard behind the scenes to make the chapter work.

One of the ways in making the chapter work better for everyone is to Invite more visitors. A. Visitor does not need to join the chapter. 30% of business passed is with non visitors.

This week our members have held 18 1-2-1 meetings with each other. This has generated 22 referrals from within the group. We had one visitor to our meeting this week. And our members invoiced £13,173 from referrals passed within our group in the last 7 days.

10 minute speaker: Pete Bruder

10 minute speaker this week was Pete Bruder from Energy Jungle. They focus on energy broking and monitoring service.

They have a domestic platform where you can input your data and it will tell you how much you can save etc. Similar to the large comparison sites.

All bills should tell you when your contract ends, out of contract rates are approx 30% higher than regular rates.

Pete is looking for introductions to shops, offices, multi-site businesses, farms, schools, warehouses and industrial premises.

It is your responsibility to make it easier for your fellow members to find referrals for you.

If you have a sub, your 60 seconds are even more important, reduce the word count and make it easier for them. Allow them time to practice.

10 minute presentation: Teresa Tomlinson

The 10 minute presentation this week is by Teresa Tomlinson from Internal Affairs Painting and Decorating. They work for builders, estate agents, landlords, bathroom installers, cabinet makers and well as the general public.

The types of projects they complete include decoration of new builds, halls, stairs and landings, bathrooms, wall papering, finishing off built in cupboards, external painting and repairs, wood wax treatments, restorations, and much more.
